SR16VE-T in a DET RWD Block
Ideas / Thoughts please
I'm currently running an SR20DET with 283rwkw @ 6500rpm and want same sort of power out of a modified SR16VE build with the ability to REV to at least 8500rpm.
Project: A 16VE stroked rwd block with 90mm pistons and turbo brings me in under the 3 ltr class for my sports sedan.
* SR16VE crank ( crack tested and nitrided OR Billet )
* SR16VE rods ( competition replacement )
* 90mm - 10:1 competition pistons
* 2871R Turbo ( current engine uses one of these )
* 1000cc Injectors - E85 Fuel
* SR16VE or SR20VE head - P11 - depending on what I can find
* Cams to suit
* Valve springs to suit
Looking for anyone who has done something like this for a race engine.
Main question is whilst a SR16VE will rev hard what sort of torque will a 2.11 R/S ratio give me. Not much good if I get lots of power but can't pull out of corners.
