High CR dilemma

ok, in a right balls up here, should really have researched this properly and not just a few comments from people, when speccing up the engine...

thoughts, advise please chaps...

had to rebuild the engine in my N1, as had spun one of the bearings, so new bottom end...

engine spec as follows :

N1 Head
N1 Cams
N1 Intake - basically anything to do with the head all N1

bottom end

20V block
20V crank
20V rods
N1 pistons
20VET metal Head Gasket

at the time of the build was told it would be around 13.5 : 1 CR and should be fine with the higher Ron fuel we use here, V-power etc...

but now being told the CR will be more like 14 : 1 and we're on race fuel territory, any thoughts, ideas, what are my options, and is the CR really near 14 : 1 ? or lower?

any advise welcome, as I want to make sure 100% on what is what, before having to split the now fully rebuilt engine, although hadn't got round to putting in car, or actually no ancillaries bolted on yet.
