I think it is the effectiveness, You need moving air passing it to cool the fuel,

True, just like the rad needs passing air to cool coolant i suppose.I have never seen a fuel cooler before either.

That's correct.

At higher rpm/load combustion is greater so I need something to keep the cylinder walls cool and thus increase fuel efficiency.

I went down the route of having the pistons coated for the same effect on ours.

If i was to do anything like this, i would also go the down the route of getting the pistons coated.But that's just a personal decision.What would be the cost of getting the pistons coated Chris ? For any set of sr20 pistons in general !
