Till now car stays with me ;)
In beginning of June I was again at Poznan Circuit to fight with yourself and beat my latest lap time (2.04).
In the morning weather was not bad I make 2 session, after that start to rain :( I was keeping my thumbs to stop :P After 2 more session stop raining and I pull out for another. In second lap I put 1:59 and in another session 1:55 :D So I did what is my plan - to break 2:00 in almera on this track :P I think better lap time is reachable but balls of steel are major requirement :D

One failure only cross my plans after. On last lap I saw that I lost electric charging. I pull over to the PIT. Quick look under the hood and problem was recognized. Gasket between turbocharger and manifold crack and all heat and exhaust gases goes on alternator and fried it up :( It was late and I need to think fast. I have 300km to home and I plan go back on my wheels. Im glad that I have some friends in Poznan and let me knew where is the nearest junkyard :P Any partshop doesnt have propper alternator on shelf (fuck). So I get almera on the road without charging on the way to mentioned junkyard ;) Good to have Optima baterrie :P
The changing was 2 hour job :P And all goes ok - I love my tools and that I took them with me :D After all everything was ok :) but... 200km after, situation get the same. Last 120km Im done on baterrie alone running on underpressure :) Luckily I get home with just 10,6V in installation. So that's the story :)

Since now all parts required for repair are in my hand (including brand new oem alternator from UK), just time is matter ;)

Yes, sure Chris :) Still in my hands :)

When I'm thinking project is done I found another thing I can improve so N16 is a little neverneding story. Maybe in next season I provide some changes which are now waiting collected for my free time. Some changes will involve suspenssion and a little power upgrade. So stay tuned ;) It's not my last word in VE and N16 world :D

Till now I improved my little daily driver, corolla with 4zz (1,4L). She gets supercharger with water intercooler on safe boost 0,5 bar, short TS tranny with Quaife LSD, TS brakes and suspenssion upgrade (harder stabilisers, ultra sr kyb struts with eibach and some poliurethans) :P I'm realy proud cause whole project is my home made manufacture except CNC machining and welding but all other including plans, drawings and other mechanical things I bring from sketch to life in my workshop :)
When I found time I get for some dyno plots, but my butt tels me about 150-160hp and 220-230Nm. It's not monster :D but realy fun car to drive.

Glad to see you still have it, Seeing the N16's are slowily dying off now too so nice to see them still running.

Doesnt those wee VVTI engines like a rev too?

Yep, N16 is getting old like every does. But even since now is still ready to beat up for example A45 AMG so it's one of the reasons she should get old in my hands :) hehe

VVTi is engine with only vtc on intake side not a VVTLi with lift change also, so on my unit rev limit is typical 6500 ;)

Yes, the 1.8 VVTLi are revvy engines but taking in comparison VE or K-series they are crappy ;)
