Haha, real SR20, I do doubt very much that without some decent coin thrown at it, that a VE will be any more powerful than this engine. Besides the torque curve is sensual. :D
Excellent, good to hear it may be seeing some track time as well. I think the Autech DE is how they all should have been plus yours has been built up. The real advantage of th VE over the DE in my view is that you can run high lobe profiles that are too big to idle but you are right it costs major bucks to put it all together.
Keep calm and vape on.

Yeah like I say without building a complete engine it'd probably be slower with a standard VE, according to the dyno's I've seen on the same roller that I used for tuning. Only one VE had more power (6KW) and that had been worked up substatually. All the others were well below what mine achieved.

That said if the DE went pop I'd have no excuses :D

I've had this VE planned for a few years which would own up rather well I think... Think built bottom end, with some nasty cam profiles run through a stand alone ecu... But with my bike racing as well the cost can't be justified just yet! But with a few more months overtime...

What is scary as hell jay is the fact that you will probably build a crazy N/A ve that as quoted on the fast and the furios "would decimate all".

So thought I would pop back on here for an update on this car.

Sold it in 2011 after moving to Christchurch. Last I saw of it someone had ripped out the DE and stuck a VET in it, upgraded the brakes and had it all certified. It was going slightly cheap at the time though as I think the VET was rooted.

I still dream about this car occasionally and regret the sale deep down, even though since I've done all sorts of cool shit on motorcycles.

My brother has bought an NXR and a VE engine so watch this forum for build pics, should be good!
